MOMbies

The MOMbies® is a monstrous (and mostly friendly) fundraising movement that unites communities through curiously creative and spectacularly spooky events. 100% of every dollar raised supports breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

More about the MOMbies

  • History
  • Impact

What began as a playful Halloween flash mob in Fairfield, Connecticut, has transformed into the MOMbies — a movement combining creativity, community, and compassion.

It all started in 2016 when Terry Davis, MOMbies founder and creative genius, had the idea to get a group of moms together for a flash mob set to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Back then, it was a simple effort to embarrass their children and do something uniquely fun together.

But the idea took hold, and soon the ghoulish group sought a way to channel the magic of the MOMbies into something even more meaningful by fundraising for a lifesaving cause.

Through dance performances, viral moments, and fundraising, they’ve raised awareness and support for breast cancer research, turning a neighborhood event into a powerful philanthropic force, all while having fun.

Check out the MOMbies on World News Tonight With David Muir to get a closer look at this haunting and heartwarming tradition.

100% of funds raised by the MOMbies supports  breast cancer research at MSK through The Cancer Couch Foundation, which was founded by local Fairfield mom and cherished community member Rebecca Timlin-Scalera, PhD.

The MOMbies are proud to honor Rebecca’s memory by continuing her mission of accelerating progress toward new treatments and cures for breast cancer.

All donations made to the MOMbies will be matched, doubling your impact!
